About Us

Cordale Housing Association is a community based housing association and registered charity operating in the Renton area of West Dunbartonshire. We cater for many diverse needs, offering high quality affordable homes for families, couples and single people, as well as supported accommodation, sheltered housing and amenity and other specially adapted properties.

We are governed by a voluntary Management Committee, who work closely with the team members responsible for managing the Association and delivering our services on a day to day basis.

Our principal aims center on building and managing social rented housing within Renton for the benefit of our tenants and the wider community. These aims flow from our business vision – Homes and Services that make life better’. You can find out more about our Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles below.

Since our registration in 1993, we have made a significant impact in the area through the provision of 506 new homes to replace the previous poor housing, improving the lives of residents in the area. In addition we have built a local health facility, provided job opportunities for local people and developed housing for older people along with the provision of independent living support. We have also participated in a host of other local services which engage and benefit our local community.

On 1st April 2014 we entered into a group partnership with a larger housing association, Caledonia Housing Association. In conjunction with Caledonia, we have worked to maintain our financial strength, effectively manage the local services we provide, invest in improvements to our current homes and also build new homes for people in housing need. Through the partnership, we are directly responsible for the operational management of Cordale and the delivery of our key housing services

We pride ourselves on our local roots and the role that we play in the community. We are committed to continuing to deliver strong performance and good outcomes for our tenants and our local community. All Scottish Registered Social Landlords have their performance monitored by the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR).  Our Engagement Plan with SHR provides further information about what this means.
