Citizens Advice Scotland
Help to Claim service
Citizens Advice Scotland Help to Claim service aims to support people who are making their initial application for Universal Credit. The support is tailored to the individual claimant and is available face-to-face, over the phone and online through webchat and advice content. It includes assistance with the online application form and help with providing evidence such as childcare costs. Help to Claim advisers can help you with the early stages of your Universal Credit claim. You can talk to them on the phone, or online over chat.
The advisers can help you:
prepare for your first Jobcentre appointment
work out if you can get Universal Credit
fill in the Universal Credit application
check your first payment is correct
